MCBDD Sponsors Accessible Restroom at Miami County Fair
August 4, 2025(MIAMI COUNTY, OH–) The Ohio Department of Children and Youth (DCY) recently completed an analysis of the Timely Receipt of Services records for the Early Intervention program at the Miami County Board of Developmental Disabilities (MCBDD).
“Analysis indicates that your county’s SFY 2025 Transition Steps and Services baseline compliance percentage is 100%,” the DCY memo stated. “Congratulations on achieving this compliance percentage with the Steps and Services requirement! We appreciate your county’s efforts to ensure that infants and toddlers have Transition Steps and Services on the IFSP (Individualized Family Service Plan) and other applicable requirements.”
Early Intervention is a statewide system that provides coordinated services to parents of infants and toddlers with disabilities or developmental delays. In Ohio, the services are offered by different agencies in each county. In Miami County, Early Intervention services are provided by the Miami County Board of Developmental Disabilities. Early Intervention is a home- and community-based collaboration where the agency works with families to provide ongoing support for children.
The Miami County Board of Developmental Disabilities (MCBDD) serves more than 1,100 people of all ages in Miami County. MCBDD directly provides Early Intervention for ages 0-2, Service and Support Administration (case management) for ages 3 through the end of life, Special Olympics programming, recreation services for all ages, and trainings for Direct Support Professionals (caregivers). MCBDD also partners with local service providers that offer adult day services, in-home care, job training, and transportation.
