Volunteer with Miami County Board of Developmental Disabilities

MCBDD volunteer opportunities are tailored to the interests of community members who wish to support those we serve. Whether you are interested in helping a specific age group or you have a special skill to share, you can make a difference in the lives of people with developmental disabilities.

By using this individualized approach, you can choose an area of service that suits you and your schedule, as well as provides you with an experience that is most rewarding to you. Here are some ways others support us:

Special Olympics Coach or Assistant

Share the love of your favorite game/s with athletes seeking to gain skills, confidence and friendship.

Event Assistant

Help with event setup and/or cleanup, serving food & drinks, etc.

Office Support

Assist with office tasks such as preparing mailings for our ABLE Magazine & Community Connections newsletters.

Buddy

Be a friend. See a movie. Attend church together. Grab a cup of coffee. Have fun! The possibilities are endless when it comes to being someone’s friend!

Tutor

Share your time and help someone improve their reading or math skills; opportunities for both children and adults.

Event Assistant

Help with event setup and/or cleanup, serving food & drinks, etc.

As a volunteer, we will walk you through our application process and help you discover which volunteer opportunities are best suited to your interests and schedule. All applicants must be at least 14 years of age, and all adults must pass a background check before getting started. Volunteering with us is a GREAT way for high school or college students to meet their service hour requirements.

To get started, fill out our application and email to us at volunteer@miamicountydd.org. Questions about volunteering? Give us a call at 937-440-3000.
