April 21, 2025(MIAMI COUNTY, OH–) In the spirit of March being Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month, Buffalo Wild Wings (2313 W. Main St., Troy) will host a fundraising event on Wednesday, March 26 from 4 to 9 p.m. benefiting Miami County Special Olympics.
During the event, Buffalo Wild Wings will donate 15 percent of sales to support Miami County athletes with developmental disabilities. Guests wishing to participate must present either a physical or digital flyer for the event in order for their purchase to be credited to the fundraiser.
Miami County Special Olympics is a program of the Miami County Board of Developmental Disabilities (MCBDD). It is an affiliate of Special Olympics Ohio and the internationally recognized Special Olympics organization. The program offers eight year-round individual and team sports for individuals with an intellectual disability, ages 8 and older. These sports include:
- Basketball
- Softball
- Volleyball
- Cheerleading
- Powerlifting
- Golf
- Bowling
- Swimming
Each program promotes athletes’ emotional, physical, and social health, and instills a strong work ethic and sense of teamwork. Through successful experiences, athletes build confidence and a positive self-image — benefits that carry over into the classroom, the workplace, and the community.
